Dallas is a city filled with endless entertainment, especially when it comes to living music and professional sports. Yet, there may come a time when you find yourself in the mood to venture beyond city limits, to a nearby town or small city that offers unique dining, shopping, and recreational opportunities. Go ahead and schedule one of this fun and pandemic-friendly short road trips, which take you to 3 different must-visit towns, for Summer 2021!

Denton, Texas

Situated about 45 minutes from Dallas, Denton, Texas is a cool college town with plenty of things to see and do. The city of just under 140,000 residents is home to the University of North Texas and attracts people of all ages, so no matter your age, you can bet there’s something fun to do there. View beautiful street art from Fry Street to downtown, grab a meal and take gorgeous, social media-worthy photos at the rooftop bar LSA Burger Co., or shop for music or comics along North Locust Street.

Pilot Point, Texas

If you have ever seen the iconic film Bonnie and Clyde, you have caught a glimpse of Pilot Point. The city, which is located an hour outside of Dallas, is seen many times throughout the movie, particularly during the bank robbery scene, which was filmed in Pilot Point Town Square. Even if you aren’t a movie buff, you’ll love Pilot Point’s charming recreational opportunities – which include taking a horseback ride along with Lake Ray Roberts – and 19th-century architecture, which makes wandering down the streets a memorable affair.

Waxahachie, Texas

Quirky, historic, and just one hour’s drive from Dallas, Waxahachie, Texas is a perfect place to visit. The town was founded in 1850 and quickly became a successful center for cotton production. The result? Its wealthy inhabitants built stunning, Victorian homes that are still visible to this day. Waxahachie also has a handful of unique museums and attractions, including Ellis County Museum, the Money Museum, and Munster Mansion, which is an exact replica of sitcom family the Munsters’ home.

Making our residents’ lives easier and more enjoyable is a primary goal of ours at Digit 1919 Apartments in Dallas, Texas. We hope that these new ideas add convenience to your day-to-day routine!
